Platzangst were my favorite German band in the early 1980s. They existed from 1979 until 1985. In 1983 they had two songs on the Waterkant Hits compilation LP of bands from Hamburg Germany and this was their only official vinyl release. They recorded a demo in 1984 and also had songs on several compilation tapes. In 1985 they changed their name to Public Enemy 23 and released a 6 song 12" ep before splitting up in 1986. The demo has great sound quality and the live show was recorded from the audience and the sound quality is pretty good.

Knut
Knut, I got the demo from a trader in Hamburg back in the day and I got the live show from the bass player in the band. He also gave me a demo and live show by Public Enemy 23 but I haven't got those any longer.
ReplyDelete@Bat 29 oh you know Jens ..
ReplyDeleteI also know them Scholle, Fränki, Boffer, Esther and so on.. Playing with them several times here in Hamburg and recorded some Stuff for my Band the channel rats back in the 1980s..;)
I love the Channel Rats!! The trader I got the Platzangst demo from is Jurgen from Bitzcore. I used to hang our with him in Hamburg and have once met the Channel Rats when hanging out with him, in 1984 or 1986. You got any tapes?
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for this great music!!
