Here's a great live show from a great band. Nervous Eaters at the time of this recording has 2 single out and were Boston favorites. They released one album in 1980 before disappearing from the scene. Before they got the record deal for the album they recorded a 10 song demo for the record company and I think the demo of Last Chance is one of those songs. The live show is a radio broadcast and is great quality as is the demo. From cassette tape.

Neighborhoods - Paradise, Boston 12-27-79
Before the Neighborhoods were famous they were just another band from Boston slugging it out in the clubs of that city. In 1979 they released a now classic single. Their next release wasn't until 5 years later. They eventually released 4 albums and one 12" ep. This live show was recorded not too long after their first single was released and both songs are played along with some that never got released at all. This is either a soundboard recording or radio broadcast and the quality is great.

Weirdos - rehearsal, lives shows and demo 1977/1978/1989
The Weirdos are my favorite American Punk band so I thought I'd do a big Weirdos post. They existed between 1977 and 1981 and in that time they released only two 7" singles and two 12" ep. It wasn't until 1989 when they regrouped that they finally released an LP. It is unfortunate for the world of music that they did not get to release an LP in 1978 because it would have been a treasured classic. They certainly had the songs for it. The rehearsal and the Whiskey show have been bootleged up and down the world but thought I'd put them up anyways. The Gold Bear show has one song I can't title. Anyone know it? This version of Barbaric Americana is the same one that is on the Weird World vol. 2 CD. These Condor rough mixes are much better here than the final release.

Damned - rehearsals 1979
Here's a nice rehearsal tape of Captain, Rat, Algy and Dave working on a bunch of songs in the time before the Machine Gun Etiquette album. Only two songs here made it onto the album and there is one - Blind Lead The Blind - that didn't make it anywhere. There's also an early version of I Believe The Impossible which here is titled Don't Trouble Trouble. Most of these songs are instrumental. Very good quality.

New York Dolls - Max's, NYC 7-04-76 [with Mick Ronson]
After Thunders and Nolan left the New York Dolls in 1975 Johansen and Sylvain regrouped with new members and kept the band going for another two years. They never released any records but there area few live recordings to help tell the story. Here is a part of one that has Mick Ronson playing guitar with them. Besides Sylvain, Johansen and Ronson, Peter Jordan plays bass, Tony Machine is on drums, and Bobby Blaine plays keyboards. This one is recorded from the audience and is a little raw but is still a fun listen.

01 Teenage News (Sylvain)
02 Pills (Diddley)
03 Boys' High Mambo (traditional high school chant/taunt)

Nuns - Demo 1977
The Nuns from San Francisco existed from 1976 to 1979 and in that time they only had two singles released. At the end of 1977 they recorded demos for CBS Records but did not get a record deal. They moved for a while to New York City in 1978 and after returning to San Francisco they split up. In 1980 a final single was released before some of the band members got back together to record an LP for the Posh Boy label. These two songs are some of the demos they recorded in 1977 with the original line up. This is from a radio broadcast.
