All Over Now!

I've decided to end Noise Addiction blog and start a new blog called Noise Addiction II. This blog will remain viewable for the information that is on it but I will not be replacing any links. There are a few local and favorite shows I intend to move to the new blog but those will be my choices so please don't ask for any new links because none will appear. Everything I've posted here was downloaded by someone so the stuff is out there and I believe it is only a matter of time until it appears on other blogs so just keep your eyes open. I prefer to keep moving forward and posting new stuff.

 http://noiseaddiction2.blogspot.com/

I'm trying to use uploadmirror, though I don't yet understand how it works. I've re-posted the Jets post from here as the experiment. Go there and try it and let me know there if it works or not.

KUSF In Exile; Fab Mab Live Redux; DJ Terry Hammer

Here's a great weekly internet only radio show that is playing rare live recordings made in the San Francisco bay area from 1979 to 1981. All shows are steaming so you can listen whenever you got the time. Bands played so far are Readymades, Contractions, Mutants, Avengers, Jim Carroll Band, SVT, Lydia Lunch, Dead Kennedys, Times 5, Lewd, Offs, Shakin' Street, Wreckless Eric, VKTMZ, Sudden Fun, Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley and a few others. Most of these shows have never been officially released and haven't been in circulation in trade circles as far as I have seen. There's lots of good stuff so go have a listen.

Is it All Over Now?

It seems that Mediafire has suspended my whole account over a single copyright issue relating to one Hawkwind post I made a while ago. I do have permissions from a good portion of the bands whose music I have posted but that doesn't seem to mean anything since, I guess, the music industry owns the copyright to all music ever created (including my own which I have posted here) in the history of this planet. Sending emails to Mediafire support to try to sort this out doesn't seem to do anything because they apparently ignore anyone who isn't a part of the music industry money machine. So, what to do now. Are there any file hosting sites that are not ankle-grabbers for the music industry? I hope everyone was able to get everything they wanted.

Jets - The Collection 1977-1978

These Jets were from Luton England and are famous for appearing on the Farewell To The Roxy album in 1978. Also, in 1978 they released their only single as the Jets on the Good Vibrations record label. In 1979 they changed their name to the Tee Vees and released a single. For fun and a good listen I've collected all their available recordings - released tracks, demos and rehearsals - into one pile of Punk Rock (mostly) joy. Track 7 is made up of excerpts of three different songs spliced together. The track didn't come with titles so I made up titles based on what the singer is singing. Lots of great stuff here, shame there was never an album released. Sound quality is very good.

track list:
01. Emergency

Revillos - Live 1981 + Session 1996

I have avoided putting these shows on the blog because I believe they are easily found in blogland but since I haven't got much new stuff to post at the moment I'll add them for those who still might not have them. The Colchester show is an audience recording that is off a vinyl bootleg album. The sound quality is good. The Colwyn Bay show is a soundboard recording and has a couple songs that didn't get released in the day. The sound quality is very good. The Mark Radcliffe session is from their reunion period and is off a radio broadcast. The four songs they play have been officially released in 1999 on the Wireless Recordings CD. This recording includes the interview with the band and the deejays in-between song announcements. Sound quality is very good.

Rezillos - Radio Interview + comp tracks 1977/1978

Here is a very interesting radio interview with Jo Callis and Faye Fife from BBC Radio in 1978 talking about their new album. Sound quality is very good. Also, I've included here the three Rezillos songs that appear on the rare Scottish Kultchur compilation LP that was released in 1979. These songs were recorded in 1977 and are either unreleased demo tracks or outtakes from one of their singles recording sessions. The complete LP is available here: http://musicruinedmylife.blogspot.com/2011/05/va-scottish-kultchur-1979.html

Gargoyles - Rare Tracks [live + demos 1989-1992]

Several members were previously in the 60's style garage band The Koel Family. Musically, they are on the Dead Boys/Stooges side of things. Sound quality is very good on everything.

Loveslug - Tangostudio 1991

Here's more Loveslug. These five songs would eventually all be re-recorded and released on the bands final CD Circus Of Values in 1993 but of these recordings only Loser Bar was released in Europe and the USA on a split single with Skinyard in 1991. That split single was Loveslug's only U.S. release.

Loveslug - Beef Jerky raw mix 1990

Before there was Turbonegro, before there was Hellacopters there was Loveslug, from Amsterdam Holland, who were delivering solid slices of Radio Birdman, stooges, MC5 influenced Rawk. These are raw mixes of the songs that would appear on their second full-length LP in 1990. Most of these tracks are instrumental versions and there is one unreleased original track and one unreleased cover song. These two tracks would have made a very nice single had it been possible.  Very good sound quality.

Johnny Ramone - KUSF station I.D 1981

For the Ramones collector who needs everything ever recorded by them here is a station identification that Johnny Ramone did for the radio station KUSF in San Francisco in 1981. It's less than a minute long. Sound quality is excellent.

track list:
01. Johnny Ramone - KUSF station I.D 1981

Descendents - California 1982/1983

These shows are both soundboard recordings. Unfortunately, they both suffer from being a thousand generations away from the original tape so there is tape hiss present. I got rid of as much as I could without wrecking the sound. The Heavy Metal intro on the T-Bird show is just a 13 minute time waste by two members while waiting for the other members to make it to the stage. Very good sound quality.

Bad Religion - Ukrainian Culture Center, Los Angeles 3-12-82

This is a rough audience recording. It's a good set by the early Bad Religion but this one has to be heard only for the L.A.P.D. intro. It gives a small idea of what it was like going to Punk shows in some places in 1982.

Steve Diggle - Demos 1-27-81

Here are some demo songs recorded by Steve Diggle in his home studio one month before the Buzzcocks split up in 1981. These songs feature guitar, drum machine and some vocals. None of the songs are finished and only the song Drift Away apparently ever got released (on a Flag Of Convenience album). These recordings provide insight into the songwriting process and also gets one wondering what a fourth Buzzcocks album might have sounded like in 1981 had they continued at that time.

track list:
01. Can You Dig It
02. Drift Away
03. Dancing At Dawn
04. By My Side
05. Don't Come Back

Madness - Live 1979/1983

Here's two shows from the Nutty Boys. The Bournemouth show is a good audience recording. The prize of that show is the cover of the Kinks hit song Lola. The Rock Hour show is very good sound but suffers from some FM interference buzz and sadly my favorite song Baggy Trousers cuts off. Still a great show.

Secret Affair - University Of Bristol, Bristol England 2-11-80

Recently, while going through my music files, I discovered that I have this show twice from two different sources and with two different track lists. So, I edited them together into one long, more complete, show. There's also a third source out there with one other song I don't have - http://www.guitars101.com/forums/f90/secret-affair-bristol-university-1980-a-71655.html - does anyone have this one? This is a radio broadcast and the sound quality is excellent.

***Thanks to Pip the third source has been acquired and the missing song added.

Damned - Royal College of Art, London 10-19-78

They played this show as The Doomed. Teenage Dream and Second Time Around are introduced as White Cats songs and Anti-pope is introduced as another King song. Apparently Mick Rossi from Slaughter & The Dogs made a guest appearance but that performance doesn't seem to be on this tape. This show sounds like it is a soundboard recording. I stripped away a lot of tape hiss but some still remains. It's a good listen.
