Dead Boys - Old Waldorf, San Francisco 11-01-77

This show was a radio broadcast. I have two sources for it. The first source is very good sound quality but doesn't have the last 2 1/2 songs. The second source is many generations down the line and muddy but good.

source 1: [from cassette tape]
01. Sonic Reducer
02. All The And More
03. Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth
04. I Won't Look Back
05. Not Anymore
06. What Love Is

source 2: [from cassette tape]
01. Sonic Reducer
02. All The And More
03. Caught With The Meat In Your Mouth
04. I Won't Look Back
05. Not Anymore
06. What Love Is
07. Flame Thrower Love
08. Son Of Sam

  1. Here's a link to a better source, and it's the complete set! It's from The Mabuhay Gardens. Stiv
    mentions it in the show.

  2. Both my tapes are marked Old Waldorf. The first tape is from c.1979. Also, it's not uncommon that bands will announce a venue different that where they are playing as a put down. I've heard it done plenty of times. Also, the date on the show you link to is 11-02-77. This Old Waldorf show is 11-01-77. So maybe they played both places which might be the cause of the confusion.

Here's the gigography for Mabuhay Gardens and the Dead Boys are not listed playing a show there at all in 1977.

After the first song Sonic Reducer, you can clearly hear Stiv say it's nice being here at the Mabuhay.and you can check out Chester Simpson's photos of them at the Mab:http://www.newfineartprints.com/gallery/dead-boys/#/gallery/dead-boys/dead-boys-77-467-41/
