Social Unrest - Demo + Live shows 1980-1983

Social Unrest came from Hayward California and formed in 1979. They had the great fortune of having their first two records produced by Dead Kennedy's guitarist East Bat Ray. Those two records were the only ones to feature original singer Kreetin Kaos who left c.1984. This demo and these live shows feature his vocal talents. The Mabuhay and unknown show are soundboard recordings so sound is excellent, the demo is also excellent quality. The On Broadway show was recorded from the audience and is rough but has three unreleased songs on it. Lots of rare songs on all these recordings. The live unknown show was just two songs someone stuck on the end of a tape. Does anyone know where it is from? I'd like to get a copy of the whole show.

  4. Thanks Frank. I definitely prefer the original line up of Social Unrest with Kreetin Kaos singing and wish Rat In A Maze was a full LP instead of just a 12" ep. They had enough songs for it and it would have been a highly rated classic I believe. Anyways, enjoy the Social Unrest.

  7. Thanks Mark!! That Mab show was given to me as the first show and I went with it because there isn't any way for me to know otherwise. It's an interesting show and that demo is fantastic. Would be nice for that to get an official release.

  13. Hello Ali,
Thanks. The Social Unrest demo is something I copied from a cassette I had in my collection since 1985. The cassette is in my blog header photo. It's the ones with Zero, Rotters, and Screamers in the middle of the bottom row.

  15. I've had for many years the live cassette tape which just says live unknown 2 tracks 1 General Enemy 2 Handcuffs Too Tight on the blogspot. I've got it labelled as Ruthies Inn , Berkeley 25/6/83. My copy is 6 tracks which also include 'Red , White & Blue' 'Black Sheep' 'Parents...' 'The Lords Prayer'.
I use to swop tapes with a guy in D.C. who did it for me (perhaps 1986) and relying on his labelling being accurate.
